ARTIST STATEMENT
Passion for ships and boats has accompanied me since childhood and throughout my life. That is why I prefer marine themes in my work. The presentation of the exposition includes many picturesque series, including: romantic seascape, industrial landscape, historical reconstruction in thematic series: STEEL GIANTS, MUSEUM SHIPS, FISHING BOATS, LIGHTHOUSES, OCEAN LINERS AND FINE ARTS, GOLDEN AGE…
For me, ships and boats are living creatures, each with its own character. Therefore, some canvases can be identified as portraits of certain ships with their own history. They say that there is a lot of steel and masculine energy in my marine series. Yes, it’s true! Dynamic design, contours of hulls, majestic superstructures of tankers, cruisers, steamships, sailboats, fishing boats – everything has aesthetically complete forms that have always inspired marine artists!
My marine painting is a tribute to sailors, ships, engineers, volunteers, and everyone who served and continues to serve in the navy.

Andrew Chyzhov was born in 1995 in Sevastopol, he has been living and working in Lviv since 2013. In 2019 he received a master’s degree from the Department of Art Glass of the Lviv National Academy of Arts. Andrew Chyzhov was awarded more than 90 awards for creative activity, including twice (2009, 2011) presidential scholarship for creative contribution to the development of culture in Sevastopol. Awarded the regional prize named after Viacheslav Chornovil (Lviv, 2018). Active participant in International (Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Switzerland, Israel, Turkey, the USA, Canada), Ukrainian and regional exhibitions, symposiums, and plein-air events. Member of the PO «Art module». Andrew’s works are stored in the collections of the Museum of Glass in Lviv, Ukraine; Ningbo Zhejiang Greenwave Glass Museum, China; Rusi Karabiberov Gallery, Bulgaria, Die Hochschulbibliothek, Theologische Hochschule Friedensau, Germany; funds of the Lviv National Academy of Arts, in private collections of Ukraine, Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, France, Estonia, Israel, Turkey, the USA, Canada.
Andrew Chyzhov was born and raised in Sevastopol and after the occupation of Crimea, the “home question” became difficult and painful for him. These feelings are sublimated into a multi-year cycle of paintings, the leitmotif of which is always an image of houses. The artist dedicates a new series of paintings to all those Ukrainians who were forced to leave their homes and look for shelter in other places. The house becomes a symbol of peaceful life, gratitude for help and hope.
Andrew says: «With the beginning of a full-scale war, millions of Ukrainians faced the “lost home feeling”. First of all, it is people whose homes were damaged by Russian aggression. There are also the rest of the Ukrainians who are forced to live in conditions of constant risk of enemy shelling. They have lost their sense of security and live in constant stress. “Home” is not just a roof over your head and brick walls. Home is a family, a memory of childhood and special moments from life, it is a unique taste of water and an exceptional aroma of air. The feeling of sadness for a native home of people who are forced to look for refuge in safer regions of Ukraine or abroad, is, undoubtedly, understandable to me.
Paintings, of course, can`t give the viewer the desired security, but they are certainly capable of waking up warm memories, encouraging dreams, awakening hope, and diving them into a state of peace and comfort, in the atmosphere of a free and happy life.

never uncontrolled; the colours are bright, fresh and never dull or common; the
painting is very decorative, but much more than that. Her art is based on tradition
but has a contemporary approach. The quality is very consistent. She also always
succeeds in reconciling all contradictions mentioned above».
Ineke Shwartz (Dutch art critic)
Artist’s Statement:
My main theme is Kyiv – “portraits” of streets, buildings, arches, corners, caryatides.

my work should bring the viewer happiness and tranquility.

Works in the field of easel painting, wall painting, and graphics. Main genre preferences: landscape, portrait, still life, plot composition. The artist’s works are in private, public, and museum collections in Ukraine, USA, China, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, Mexico, Spain, Turkey, Croatia, and other countries of the world.
“Creating a sculpture is actually a bodily touch. Yes, you look at the image with your
eyes, scan it, and then transfer it to clay, hold it in your hands, give it shape, breathe
life into it. When a painter works, it’s dif erent, it’s more dif icult for him, he doesn’t
draw a diagram, he can’t just transfer a schedule to the canvas”
He studied at the Uzhhorod School of Decorative and Applied Arts and the Kyiv State
Art Institute (now the National Academy of Arts and Crafts), in Vronskyi’s studio. As a
student, he was compared to the famous French artist Henri Matisse. After graduating,
he spent 5 years in solitude.
Before coming to sculpture, the artist tried many media: different genres of painting and
graphic arts techniques. That is why Suholit’s sculptures are polychrome and
surprisingly “graphic”.
Oleksandr’s work occupies a prominent place in contemporary Ukrainian art, he is

Marina Dobrovolskaya was born in 1986 in Kharkiv. In 2009, she graduated from the GS Faculty of the Kharkiv National Academy of urban economy with a degree in architecture. Member of the Kharkiv Organization of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine (graphics section) since 2018. Participated in numerous All-Ukrainian exhibitions and international Plein-airs. His works are in private collections in Ukraine, Bulgaria, Spain, England, and America. The peculiarity of the artist is in her individual style of performance: the author works in a mixed technique of watercolors, pastels, and oil, which gives the works a sense of lightness, airiness, and volume. A special place in her work is occupied by portraits, which pay great attention to detail the transmission of a person’s character. In the technique of pencil, as well as mixed (pencil with liner), the artist depicts the urban landscape – one of her favorite subjects, which is due to her training at the Department of Architecture and Urban Planning under the guidance of excellent teachers: N. I. Krivoruchko, V. P. Manokhin, V. A. Kodin, L. A. Bogdanova and others.

Kseniya Oudenot is a Ukrainian-born British artist currently based in Paris and London. Her artistic journey is driven by a fascination with nature, science, and the perception of time. Through her art, she delves into the allegorical resonance and fantastical elements inherent in our society’s manipulation of nature and the interplay of different temporal dimensions.
In 2018, Kseniya embarked on a cross-disciplinary artistic practice, which has since led to the development of an extensive body of work encompassing sculptures, paintings, drawings, and art installations.
During the early stages of her career, Kseniya’s design creations showcased her affinity for high-tech materials and were showcased at prestigious venues such as the Science Museum in London and the Science Gallery in Dublin.
Having received training in academic painting, Kseniya relocated to the UK to pursue a degree in Performance Design at St. Martins College. Her diverse artistic background, ranging from art and theater costumes to high fashion, has left an indelible mark on her work. Notably, she has undertaken projects for esteemed institutions including the London Royal Opera House, Scottish Ballet, and Alexander McQueen. Her background influences are often evident in her art through dramatic shapes, rich textures, and the bold use of contrasting elements.
Kseniya’s talent has garnered recognition from notable publications such as The Wall Street Journal and Vogue, earning her the distinction of being hailed as a “Best New Talent.” Presently, she is focusing on creating fine art, channeling her creativity into this expressive form.
Studying performance design and working in theater during the early stages of her career have profoundly shaped Kseniya’s ability to convey ideas and express artistic value. While she received formal training in academic drawing and painting, her artistic sensibilities have always been drawn to contemporary forms of expression and the sculptural dimensionality of art.
In her artistic practice, Kseniya enjoys experimenting with visual imbalances, contrasts, and a diverse array of materials. Thematically, her work revolves around the concepts of time and nature, exploring the altered or artificial aspects of nature, the modification of environments, the acceleration of growth, and the changing dynamics of ecosystems. Through her art, she investigates the juxtaposition of different times and contexts, offering thought-provoking insights into our complex relationship with the natural world.
