On the canvas is an image of a scene of the city at the beginning of the last century, two sailing ships moored to the opposite quays of the canals. In a harmonious combination of realism and fantasy, the left side of the canal is bathed in the evening shadow, and the right – in the golden glow of the sun.
Despite the contrasting lighting, the scene is dominated by an organic calm that evokes a sense of pacification and order. The sails are neatly assembled on the rails, a quiet ripple occasionally disturbs the calm waters of the channel, throwing off the mesmerizing reflections of the hulls of the ships. Architect, Artist, Marine Painter
Volodymyr was born in 1964 in Kyiv. An architect and artist by profession, he graduated from the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in 1988. As a certified architect, he has practiced in Ukraine, collaborating with international architectural firms, and he operates his own architectural studio. As an artist, Volodymyr works with traditional drawing techniques and has developed his own unique palette knife painting style.
